The composition includes the active ingredient drotaverine hydrochloride .
1 tablet contains 40 or 80 mg of this substance. Additional elements: talc, potato starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate.
1 ml of injection solution contains 20 or 40 mg of active substance.
1 ml of solution for IV and IM contains 20 or 40 mg of active substance, as well as additional elements: injection water, sodium disulfite and ethanol.
How to use "Drotaverine" in solution
When administered intramuscularly, adults are prescribed 2 to 4 ml three times a day. For colic and spasms of the liver or kidneys, intravenous use of the solution is recommended, which must be administered slowly. In exceptional cases, in case of circulatory problems, the medicine is injected into the artery.
For women during childbirth, the solution is injected into the muscle in a volume of 2 ml. If necessary, repeat the procedure after two hours. For intestinal and stomach ulcers, the drug is used in conjunction with antiulcer medications.
